Internship Program

The Summer Associate Program offers MBA graduate students a unique opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to the Investment Banking Division at Morgan Stanley. The 10-week program commences in June, during which participants are placed in a specific group within the division. Summer Associates will work on a variety of projects, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), initial public offerings (IPO), and pitchbooks for business development. Those who perform successfully may be considered for a full-time Associate offer upon completion of the Program.
 

You will receive both Firmwide and Investment Banking Division-specific training and interact with peers across various locations in the region. The training program consists of business-specific content, compliance topics, and networking opportunities, equipping you with the foundational knowledge and connections to thrive in your role.

 
Role and Responsibilities

Your projects may span a wide range of investment banking activities—from mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and initial public offerings (IPOs) to financing a new venture. You might participate in a competitive auction process to divest a business, identify strategic acquisition targets, or organize roadshows for potential investors in an equity offering. The role and responsibilities may include:

• Assisting in the execution of corporate finance and/or M&A transactions
• Conducting financial/strategic business analysis and in-depth industry research
• Contributing to team discussions and participating in client meetings
• Preparing and delivering client presentations in a clear and compelling manner

Qualifications and Skills

• You must be an MBA graduate student in your penultimate year of study, graduating between October 2026 - July 2027
• You have at least two years of business experience
• You are analytical, quantitative, insightful, adaptive, a quick learner, a leader, a team player, a multi-tasker and possess strong work ethics and a positive attitude
• You are motivated to succeed in the investment banking industry
• You have excellent communication skills and are fluent in English
• Business fluency in Mandarin / Cantonese is an advantage for the program in Hong Kong
• Business fluency in Southeast Asian languages (e.g. Bahasa, Vietnamese, Thai, Tagalog) is an advantage for the program in Singapore
