2019 Operations Full Time Analyst Program (Mumbai & Bangalore)
OPERATIONS: FULL-TIME ANALYST
Operations is the front line of defense for Morgan Stanley’s financial well-being. One of the largest divisions in the Firm, Operations has diverse responsibilities including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology.
Placement and duration: Full-Time Analysts are part of a three-year program, which includes an extensive development plan to expand their experience and exposure over time. Candidates are placed based on hiring needs and are matched to a specific role depending on their skills. Analysts will have support and supervision from experienced Operations professionals throughout their assignments.
Training program: Analysts join in June 2019. The Program begins with an induction to the Firm and the division, followed by two weeks of formal classroom training and then continued on-the-job training. Classroom training includes business-specific content, product and market overviews, current events, team building activities and project work.
Responsibilities:
• Trade capture, enrichment and confirmation, position reconciliation: learn key processes in the life cycle of a trade from deal capture to the final settlement, and then identify and resolve trading breaks from discrepancies dealing with security information, trading date and settlement date, executed quantity, taxes, commission, prices and settlement locations.
• Data mining, business analysis, modeling/reporting, and documentation: preparation and compilation of daily/weekly/monthly metric dashboards to ensure thorough business analysis.
• Collaborate with team members of all levels to complete daily tasks, share market and systems knowledge, create best practice methodologies and approaches for business analysis, issue follow up and escalation.
• Develop relationships with clients (i.e., Counterparties, Traders, Origination, Legal, Credit, IT and Controllers) to understand the priorities of stakeholders to ensure that business needs are met, protect client confidentiality and address ad-hoc requests in a timely fashion.
Qualifications/skills/requirements:
• You are a university student with average score of >60% over past 5 semesters, who will graduate by June 2019
• You must be willing to work in flexible shifts starting and ending between 6:30am and midnight.
• You have excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
• You pay close attention to detail, and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Interview process: Shortlisted students from written test will be required to come to the Morgan Stanley office for the interview process. Students will be further shortlisted based on basis of group activity combined with personal rounds of interview before we make the final offer.
