2020 Investment Management Off Cycle Internship - COO Office - Investment Oversight (Dublin)
Placement and Duration
The Off-Cycle Internship is an opportunity to experience the culture and atmosphere in the Investment Management Division by taking on some of the responsibilities and functions of a Full-time Analyst for a short period. The internship will last six months, but can vary in length depending on business needs and candidate availability.
Responsibilities
The Investment Oversight Team performs a governance and oversight function (independent of the portfolio managers) responsible for overseeing portfolio management activities carried out around the world. The function sits within the Office of COO. This growing team comprises three members in Dublin and London. The intern will be located in the Dublin office and report to the Head of Investment Oversight who will provide guidance and mentoring.
Investment Oversight performs ongoing investment and operational due diligence on entities to which portfolio management activities are delegated. Performance monitoring helps to identify strategies for deeper analysis. The team is involved throughout the product cycle from development, into implementation and, if relevant, to termination. The team reports to various legal entity and fund boards on its due diligence findings.
The successful candidate will support the team in the performance of duties which may include:
Monitoring of investment performance
Assisting with ongoing projects including automation efforts
Assisting in preparation of reports to fund and legal entity boards
Assisting in the review and development of policies and procedures
Undertaking thematic reviews of fund range, utilising analytical tools such as Morningstar and Bloomberg in addition to proprietary systems
Shadowing senior team members in portfolio management review meetings
Qualifications/Skills/Requirements
Keen interest in financial markets and investment management
Positive attitude, good attention to detail and time management skills
Strong academics and intellectual curiosity
Proficient with MS Office and fluent in English
