2018 INVESTMENT BANKING SUMMER ANALYST PROGRAM

PLACEMENT AND DURATION:
The Natural Resources Group’s Houston office is made of up professionals focused on the Energy - Oil and Gas industry. Summer Analysts in the Houston office work on a variety of energy-related projects ranging from transaction execution to business development initiatives. Summer Analysts have the opportunity to work directly with senior-level financial and strategic decision-makers of some of the world’s largest corporations, as well as with smaller, emerging growth clients.
TRAINING PROGRAM:
This intensive 10-week program includes a Firmwide orientation to Morgan Stanley’s businesses, followed by four days of formal classroom training on our Investment Banking Division (IBD). Your training will continue throughout the summer with structured learning sessions run by senior executives. Similarly, you will have many opportunities to integrate with peers and senior staff through a series of networking, social, charity and mentoring events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The roles and responsibilities of a Summer Analyst vary by department, but may include:
• Analyzing detailed corporate and financial information.
• Creating statistical exhibits that analyze comparative financial performance.
• Building models to illustrate projected financial results and value to companies.
• Developing marketing memoranda and delivering sections of research presentations.
• Participating in the execution of financings and M&A transactions.
• Acting as the liaison for the team and other parts of the Firm.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
• You are a rising junior undergraduate student.
• You have a strong interest in financial services.
• You are a team player with a strong work ethic who thrives with confidence when faced with intellectual challenges.
• You have strong analytical skills and the ability to grasp complex data, manage multiple projects, provide complicated financial analysis and develop appropriate corporate finance solutions.
• You have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to form effective working relationships through collaboration, strive for excellence and exhibit the highest ethical standards.
