2019 Wealth Management Summer Analyst Program (Sydney)
Placement and duration
Our Summer Analyst Program is designed to provide a realistic view of Wealth Management by having a Summer Analyst for 10 weeks. During this time, you will gain exposure to multiple departments within the Wealth Management advisory business. This will give you a comprehensive understanding of how we deliver services and solutions to help our clients manage their wealth.
The program culminates with you being aligned to a group of accredited Financial Advisors who provide strategic investment advice to individuals and institutions. Along the way, you will obtain a strong foundation in the basic skills of financial planning and advice. You will be shown how we market the Firm’s products and services effectively.
Training program
This intensive 10-week program includes a Firmwide orientation to Morgan Stanley’s businesses, followed by rotations through the various Wealth Management departments including Platforms, Risk, Research, Compliance and Marketing. Your training will continue throughout the summer with structured learning sessions run by senior executives. Similarly, you will have many opportunities to integrate with peers and senior staff through a series of networking, social, charity and mentoring events.
Responsibilities
The work is challenging, and Summer Analysts are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and dig into researching and analyzing investment solutions. Assignments typically include:
- Develop an understanding of the full Morgan Stanley product range and the investment management process
- Assist Financial Advisors to analyze client portfolios
- Analyze investment opportunities based on client profiles and wealth management strategy requirements
- Assist in preparing marketing presentations
Qualifications/ Skills/ Requirements
- You are a university student in your penultimate year of study or first-year Master’s student with outstanding academics.
- You are a team player with a strong work ethic who thrives with confidence when faced with intellectual challenges.
- You have strong analytical skills and the ability to grasp complex data, manage multiple projects, provide complicated financial analysis and develop appropriate corporate finance solutions.
- You have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to form effective working relationships through collaboration, strive for excellence and exhibit the highest ethical standards.
- Fluency in English is required.
