Morgan Stanley Fund Services (MSFS) is a leading fund administration business with offices in New York, London, Hong Kong, Dublin, Glasgow, Mumbai and Bangalore. MSFS services a global institutional client base, providing hedge funds, multi-asset class investors, family offices and private equity firms with innovative product solutions. Primarily, MSFS provides accounting, investor servicing, reporting, tax, middle and back-office support, and portfolio analytics. MSFS employees work closely with the Chief Operating Officers, Chief Financial Officers, Portfolio Managers and investors of our clients.
Roles & Responsibilities
A Path to Client Facing Account Manager
- Ensure all trades are processed. Ensure capital activity is processed, balanced and reconciled with Investor Service Data.
- Reconcile, research and resolve cash and position differences between the custodian/prime broker and portfolio accounting system on daily basis.
- Ensure all fund expenses are accrued timely. Calculate the fund performance and allocate to each investor. Calculate and review the funds’ geometric returns. Coordinate the preparation and distribution of each investor’s periodic capital statement. Prepare and review monthly account closing workflow tasks and ensure compliance with established accounting procedures and controls.
- Assist with preparation of year-end audit reporting. Prepare and distribute other recurring and ad hoc reports to internal and external parties.
- As directed by supervisor, resolve issues and address requests from clients and other third parties. Escalate issues to supervisor. Assist management with special projects. Develop expertise with few repetitions.
- Be able to communicate written and verbally with peers, management, and clients, if necessary. Pro-actively seek out educational and informational sources to remain industry current. Work with and assist other team members in meeting common goals. Analyze unique and recurring situations, come up with solutions and continuously improve processes, all with limited management interaction.
Qualifications, Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree with a graduation date between October 2022 and July 2023
- Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or other related majors
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
- CPA/CA/CFA qualification is a plus
- Accounting knowledge of securities is a plus
