Placement and duration
Morgan Stanley's Financial Institutions Group (‘FIG’) covers a diverse set of clients including banks, insurance companies, financial technology (‘FinTech’) companies, asset managers, exchanges and hedge funds. Financials represents ~20% of the S&P 500 and is the largest sector in the global economy, accounting for almost one third of global GDP. As a result, the sector produces some of the largest and highest profile M&A and capital markets transactions. FIG M&A represents ~16% of total M&A volume at Morgan Stanley, with all M&A executed by FIG bankers (unlike many groups that utilize our M&A team for execution). Morgan Stanley's Financial Institutions Group operates as a global team with approximately 170 Investment Bankers worldwide, allowing us to bring our clients global capabilities across the full spectrum of capital markets and M&A activities.
Training program
Investment Banking Summer Associates participate in an orientation program covering the Firm’s businesses, the transition from an academic setting to a corporate environment and opportunities for establishing a network throughout the Firm. During the program, Summer Associates will learn corporate valuation methodologies, financial statement analysis and modeling from accomplished instructors, bankers and university professors.
Responsibilities
•Managing and assisting in the execution of corporate finance transactions.
•Performing financial analysis, strategic business analysis and detailed industry research.
•Contributing to team discussions and client meetings.
•Preparing and delivering client presentations in a clear and compelling manner
Qualifications/ Skills/ Requirements
•You are an MBA student in your first year of study or a JD student in your second year of study.
•You have at least two to three years of work experience (preferred).
•You are a multi-tasker, provide complicated financial analysis and develop appropriate corporate finance solutions.
