Placement and Duration
Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division has a long-standing, established Western Region footprint with both industry and product coverage groups. The Western Region has professionals working out of offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The region’s industry coverage includes Consumer/Retail/Industrial, Media/Gaming, and Healthcare. Morgan Stanley’s Western Region Mergers and Acquisitions team sits in the Los Angeles office and Financial Sponsors team sits in the San Francisco office, both executing transactions for the entire region.
Across all groups, bankers in Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division utilize both traditional and innovative financing techniques to help corporations and governments around the world make and execute decisions regarding their capital. Summer Associates work on a mix of assignments ranging from transaction execution to business development initiatives. They have the opportunity to work directly with senior-level financial and strategic decision-makers of some of the world’s largest corporations, as well as with smaller, emerging growth clients.
Training Program
Investment Banking Summer Associates participate in an orientation program covering the Firm’s businesses, the transition from an academic setting to a corporate environment and opportunities for establishing a network throughout the Firm. During the program, Summer Associates will learn corporate valuation methodologies, financial statement analysis and modeling from accomplished instructors, bankers and university professors.
Responsibilities
•Managing and assisting in the execution of corporate finance transactions.
•Performing financial analysis, strategic business analysis and detailed industry research.
•Contributing to team discussions and client meetings.
•Preparing and delivering client presentations in a clear and compelling manner
Qualifications/Skills/Requirements
•You are an MBA student in your first year of study or a JD student in your second year of study.
•You have at least two to three years of work experience (preferred).
•You are a multi-tasker, provide complicated financial analysis and develop appropriate corporate finance solutions.
You are an MBA or a J.D. student graduating between December 2019 and June 2020.
