Product Development Description: The Product Development Team is responsible for collaborating with various functional areas across the firm to develop global equity and fixed income products needed to support Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s overall business strategy and launching those products in a commercially successful, high-quality manner. The Team manages the process for new product development and product rationalization across a broad range of investment strategies (e.g. Emerging Markets Equity, Global Real Estate, Growth, Global Multi-Asset, Global Fixed Income) and vehicle structures (e.g. open-end and closed-end 1940 Act mutual funds, SICAV, limited partnerships, institutional separate accounts, and offshore funds).
Duties & Responsibilities: The Product Development team is looking for a Summer Analyst to:
• Work collaboratively with Investments, Operations, Fund Administration, Technology, Risk, Legal and Compliance, Sales and Marketing teams to execute the launch, merger, and liquidations of new or existing products
• Manage process for new product development and product rationalization from idea generation, building a business case, managing internal and Board approvals and implementation
• Conduct research and analyses on competitor funds, performance, and global investment trends using various fund databases and present findings for senior management to assess marketplace viability
•Assist in managing the existing product line to ensure that the proper positioning is maintained and adapted, as appropriate, to changing client requirements and competitive environment (i.e. pricing reviews, performance monitoring, instrument use, shifting of investment strategies)
