About Finance Morgan Stanley’s Finance Division protects the Firm by serving as guardian of the Firm’s books & records while contributing to our Firm-wide risk management responsibilities. The Finance Division manages the Firm’s financial & capital resources, prepares financial and regulatory reports, and helps maintain strong relationships with our Regulators. We advise and support our various business units by working with them on business plans & forecasts, reviewing financial performance, and providing advisory services. Broadly, the Finance function in India comprises of Legal Entity Controllers (LEC), Regulatory Reporting, Finance Risk & Assurance, Product Control, Tax, Treasury, and Re-Engineering & Expense Management (REM). The Interns will be provided structured training and have the opportunity to work within one of these silos. The role may provide opportunity to individuals to work closely with colleagues in Finance and other Business Units.
Finance Internship Program
The program has been designed to develop highly motivated professionals by providing a stimulating and supportive environment to understand the business and achieve the maximum potential. On joining, Summer Interns will spend 8 - 10 weeks within Finance where they will go through a structured training program that will provide overview of the various Finance functions, products and system & applications that we use. There are senior manager presentations and professional skills workshops along the way to provide you with a well-rounded experience.
What you should expect…
Successful candidates will develop or enhance their knowledge of finance and accounting by exploring the various financial aspects of one or more of the Firm’s business units.
Candidates will generally be expected to:
Understand the products & Business
Understand the Risk & Reporting Systems Overview of daily reconciliation, substantiation and analysis Understand the Regulatory framework & Financial Reporting The projects are presented to senior management, alongside getting a firsthand experience of working on a project from inception to delivery.
What we look for
Good academic background in Business/Commerce with an interest in Financial Services
Excellent problem-solving skills
Knowledge of MS office preferably Excel Strong communication
