About Fixed Income Division (FID) Team

The Fixed Income division is comprised of interest rate and currency products, credit products and distribution. Professionals in the division assess and actively manages risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets. The Commodities division is a market leader across a broad range of commodities markets, with expertise in areas including client risk management, financing solutions and investor products Sales and Trading.

From the largest global institutions to innovative new hedge funds, investors come to Morgan Stanley for sales, trading, and market-making services in almost every type of financial instruments including stocks, bonds, derivatives, foreign exchange, and commodities. Our professionals provide liquidity and content to clients around the world, actively assessing and managing risk, trading securities, and planning and executing transactions in the fast-changing markets. As the needs of our clients become increasingly complex, we often develop customized solutions.

Our dedicated global team, with demonstrated leadership in risk management, monitors and manages risk through a combination of statistical analytical tools and stress tests. We use a combined top-down and bottom-up holistic approach to create the most comprehensive margin policies, taking into account portfolio correlations and shifts as well as incorporating sensitivities to hedges.

Roles and Responsibilities

·        Sales: Work alongside experienced employees to learn how we build our client base and establish and maintain long-term client relationships. Assist with developing and presenting investment ideas and the fundaments of selling and cross selling the Firm’s products.

·        Trading: Execute trading ideas and analysis and support all aspects of the market-making trade execution process, from providing research analytics on trades to relative value analysis.

·        Structuring: Learn how to build valuation models to help issuers and investors optimize a transaction’s economics and quantify sources of value and risk.

·        Analytics: Provide quantitative and qualitative metrics and analytics around client revenue and profitability to drive internal business and client strategy; work with team to help clients efficiently manage their commission dollars by creating increased transparency around the services that client’s value.

What We Look For 

·        Undergraduate or Master’s degree in your final year of study.

·        Financial, Economics, Mathematics/Engineering or business-related studies preferred.

·        Interest and understanding of the financial markets.

·        Strong verbal and written communication skills.

·        Analytical, insightful, quick learners, team players, multi-taskers, with a positive attitude.

·        Flexible to work in North America and EMEA time zone.
